Employers with a payroll bill of £3m per annum will be required to pay 0.5% of their payroll total above that amount on a monthly basis. Employers with a payroll bill of less than £3m will fall into 2 categories; a Non-levy paying employer with more than 50 employees and a Non-levy employer with less than 50 employees.
The charges to be set by training providers are expected to be capped at £1500 for a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, and at £2000 for a Level 3. Training providers may, of course, charge less than this, but employers are expected to pay around 10% of the cost of each qualification, resulting in increased costs to the employer.
