Pam Butler and Muthu Govindarajah attended The Alzheimer's Show in London on the 8th June 2018. It was our first attendance at this exhibition and we were not disappointed. In a workshop held by Re:Cognition Health, Dr Emer MacSweeney, CEO, gave an enthralling talk on understanding what happens in the brain and why early diagnosis is essential. She introduced us to the relevance of clinical trials with the aim of slowing or halting the progression of the disease. If successful, clinical trials can introduce new medications 4-5 years later. In addition, we visited many stands and collated material for use in developing internal training courses, and to signpost staff and carers to resources and other services.
